Super Neem

Super Neem Oil contains the most azadirachtin of any neem oil on the market.The azadirachtin concentration of regular SuperNeem Oil ranges from 1701 ppm to 2200 ppm, while the premium grade has azadirachtin levels ranging from 2201 ppm to 3000 ppm.

Neem Oil is used as a botanical insect repellent to protect plants and crops against pests. Add any suitable emulsifier to form a 0.5% emulsion and use as a foliar spray and soil drench spray on plants and crops. It is effective against insecticide-resistant pests, highly environmentally compatible, non-toxic to mammals and birds, and does not affect beneficial insects. There are no restrictions on organic neem products, which makes it ideal for integrated pest management programs. In the sphere of pest control, studies have found (see efficacy findings below) that pure Neem oil, diluted in water with an emulsifier had better efficacy than formulations that “artificially” fortify azadirachtin levels even up to 50,000 ppm.

Applications of diluted SuperNeem Oil, keep pets free from fleas, ticks, and scab mites. Cattle and sheep dips containing a 15% emulsion of Plasma Neem Oil, keep the animals free from blowflies, horn flies and scabs.

SuperNeem Neem Oil has found wide acceptance as a base raw material in the preparation of cosmetics, beauty care and herbal medicinal products.

Neem Cake has a minimum azadirachtin content of 500 ppm, with nimbin and salannin contents of above 500 ppm as well.

The bark of the neem tree is used for cosmetics, health care products and medicinal preparations. Natural toothpaste uses neem bark powder for teeth. Neem leaves are medicinal The kernel of the neem fruit is crushed to yield neem oil which is used chiefly in pest control products and also in medicinal, cosmetic and health care products. Neem salve heals lips and cold sores. The residue after crushing the kernel is neem cake, which is an excellent organic fertilizer. Even the twigs of the tree are used as toothbrushes for dental hygiene. Small wonder that scientists have yet to come across a more beneficial tree!

Active Ingredients In Neem

The active constituent of Neem is made up of about 40 different active compounds called Tetranortriperpernoids, or more specifically, liminoids.

Chemically these active ingredients or liminoids, are more akin to steroids. When ingested by the insect, they create hormonal disruptions which prevent the insect from feeding, breeding or metamorphosing.

What Is Azadirachtin?

The main active ingredient of Neem is Azadirachtin, a tetranortriterpenoid, which acts as to alter insect feeding. It also acts as an insect repellent and insect sterilization properties. It is so potent that quantities as low as 1 ppm will totally repel certain insects. It interferes with ecdysone, the key insect molting hormone and prevents larvae and pupae from completing the molting process.Insects treated with Azadirachtin during the larval and pupal stages, comprising 60-70 percent of their lives, generally die within 3 – 14 days. Unlike chemical insecticides, it works on the insect’s hormonal system, not on the digestive or nervous system, and does not lead to development of resistance in future generations.

Medicinal and Cosmetic Properties of Neem

There are so many medicinal and cosmetic properties attributed to neem that they are hard to believe! Neem leaves and neem bark are reported to be effective for cuts, bruises, skin disorders and acne; and as a cosmetic to remove skin blemishes. Medically, it is effective as an analgesic, especially for earaches and headaches. It is also effective in controlling diabetes. In fact, neem leaves are traditional herbs for treating diabetes (Alam et al, 1989) and has been specifically proven to be effective in preventing and treating the disease (Murthy, 1978).

Most herbal remedies are comprised of neem bark, neem leaves and neem oil.

SuperNeem Oil, Neem Cake, Karanja Oil and Karanja Cake, are tested by HPLC to detect aflatoxin. The maximum allowable limit of aflatoxin B1 is below 2 parts per billion and the total aflatoxin content is below 4 parts per billion.

Neem As A Cancer Treatment

Neem’s active ingredients suppress the growth of cancer cells while also inducing apoptosis and other types of cell death, such as autophagy. Extracts from seeds and leaves of neem induce apoptosis in various types of cancer cells such as leukemia, prostate, cervical, colon, stomach, and breast. These extracts also show positive effects on choriocarcinoma, and hepatocarcinoma cells. These findings suggest a proapoptotic effect of neem extracts on a broad spectrum of cancer cell types.
